Hi! For those of you that don't know already Patrick and I had our first child, Cody Thomas, on January 27th. We feel so blessed to have a healthy beautiful boy. It is so strange the difference that a person can feel after having a child. I have been fortunate enough to witness two of my nephews being born and I think Patrick saw a live birth once on national geographic (!), but the emotions that take over when we had a child of our own is indescribable. It truly is a miracle. Patrick and I have had several conversations about the love that we already have for our son, not only for him but our love that has grown for each other. All of our gratitude, love, and appreciation goes to our families, and the nursing staff of St. Johns Hospital, and of course Dr. Darran Parham for making this a truely amazing experience. Aunt Abigail is pretty cool too!!!

It is amazing isn't it? I remember after having Merikate I was in awe of all the other mothers I knew and saw when I was out and about. It was like joining a club or something. I was one of "them" and yet I had no idea what it was or existed until I experienced it myself!

ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you guys! And it was great getting to spend time with everyone again. Isn't it really the most awesome thing in the world!! People tell you all along how amazing it is to see and hold your baby for the first time...but you don't "truly" understand until that moment. (I'm tearing up just thinking about it!) It really is like being part of a new "group"! Take care sweetie!
